Planting tomato using plastic bags

Assalamualaikum..

Recently i've visited some blogs .. and one of them I remember a blog by a grandmother about her homekitcken garden..and the way she planted vegetables there. It gave me a good idea of planting using plastic bags instead of garden bags, few advantages :

• save space (you don't have to prepare garden bed that will take more space and you have to plan and look for location before make new bed)
• mobile (you can shift anywhere that's good for plant in order to get more support or sunlight)
• less work (no heavy works like making garden bed - just fill up soil in plastic bag)
• Save time (less work)

note : note applicable for all veges such as cabbages, sawi, cauliflower etc that need bigger space.

Like our garden, sometimes when we planted lots of veges by cycles and we might run out of space to put more veges and some seedlings waiting to be transferred. It will takes time to wait for the plants that already in the garden to expired and ready for replacement.

I have some tomato seedlings about 3 weeks old which are ready for transfer. The seeds actually from the tomatoes that we bought from market, small fruit variety.  I thought of planting it because they matured much earlier than the one from bigger fruit variety. At least by planting more varieties would give more exposure and understanding about tomatoes.

Adopting from 'the grandmother's blog, i started to prepare some soils from garden and fill it in the plastic bags..

 Five plastic bags filled with soils are ready now,

So i choosed 5 seedlings for transplant,

 Small tomato transplanted,

After 5 small tomatoes transplanted, then i shifted them inside the greenhouse for temporary since outside can be very hot for them and if there's no cover and too much heat they might not be able to survive.

Inshaallah when the tomatoes strong enough and adopted to new place, they'll be transfer outside without having to prepare a garden bed for them.
For those who like to plant tomato at home can try this way cause it's more practical.

Percubaan menamam kacang panjang

Percubaan yang tak menjadi

Percubaan yang pertama menaman kacang tanah selepas banjir dalam bulan March adalah adalah pada 8/5/12. Lepas sebulan masih lagi belum memanjat junjung walaupun separuh ketinggian junjung. Ia tak membesar dan berbuah seperti yang diharapkan mungkin disebabkan 2 minggu selepas itu dah masuk musim lebih sejuk dan perubahan cuaca menyebabkan pembesaran kacang panjang terbantut. Pada tempoh 3 bulan yang lepas harga kacang tanah memang melambung. Biasanya seiikat $1.00 menjadi sehingga $3.50. rasanya baik tak payah beli dan makan kacang. sekarang nie cuaca tak sesejuk pada bulan2 yang lepas dan kacang panjang mula memenuhi market. Dapat $1.50 seiikat pun boleh dapat.

Memandangkan Abu Aidan prefer sayuran ditanam dihalaman sendiri sebab lebih menjimatkan, dapat memanfaatkan tanah dan lebih segar, maka percubaan untuk menanam kacang panjang terpaksa dibuat lagi. Kemudian pada 25/6/12 tanam pulak sedikit didalam greenhouse, sebagai experimen nak tahu boleh survive ke tak sebab pada waktu itu masih ada dijual dimarket tetapi mahal. Batch ke2 ni ditanam dekat dengan pagar yang mana boleh dapat lebih cahaya matahari dan pagar dapat digunakan untuk kacang memanjat. Tetapi yang tak yang praktikalnya kacang tuh boleh memanjat sampai atas green house dan yang hasil pada bahagian pagar sebelah luar tak dapat nak petik sebab longkang dalam. Sekarang dah berusia lebih sebulan, nampak perkembangan alhamdulillah bagus daripada yang terdahulu..dah mula memanjat pagar, tetapi belum berbunga atau berbuah lagi.

Yang batch ke 3 tanam pada 9/7/12 diluar greenhouse, sekarang alhamdulillah dah sebesar nie..

Memandangkan pokok boleh mula memanjat dalam masa yang terdekat maka junjung yang sangat simple telah disediakan. Junjung kecil yang dibuat daripada buluh seperti dalam foto2 dibawah.

Alhamdulillah setelah junjung siap, tak adalah kerja-kerja berat yang perlu dibuat untuk kacang panjang ni kecuali penjagaan seperti watering dan merumput.

One Petola fruit - preserved for seeds - more than 2 months ago..

Yes, confirmed 6 petola seeds only..

When i asked Abu Aidan, "guess how many seeds inside this petola?" he said "5"

"Huh, you must have seen the seeds i kept somewhere..", but no way for him to see it cause i hide it somewhere much earlier..(right on top of top kitchen cabinet, would not be able to see )..

"How do you know?".. 

"I used to preserved it many times before, "... oooooo, so there's no surprised for me him..
